Top 5 Ways to Keep Your Power Tools Smooth and Running

Keeping your power tools in tip-top shape is the best thing that you should do to keep it running and to increase its lifespan. It is also an assurance that it will always be ready in times that you need it.

So, these are three simple things to do:

Remove the dust!

Removing the dust does not only keep your tool look new but it also prevents your tool from overheating. This is true especially when you frequently clean the exhaust fan. You can also brush and vacuum the dust.

Lubricate it!

Your tools have metal parts. Every now and then you should consider oiling them slightly especially those moving parts. In a drill, oil the drill bit to keep it sharp and in good running condition.

Check the Cords

Always wipe the cords, keep it clean and always check for damaged insulators. This is highly important because damaged insulators can cause electric shock which is fatal. Also, check if the plugs are in good condition and is not loose.

Store it Properly

Store it in a cool dry place. It is advisable if you still have the original cases to avoid dust and rusting.

Brand

Before buying a power tool, you should always keep in mind of the brand. Buy trusted brands like Makita, Milwaukee, Bosch or Hitachi. Search the internet for reviews and compare all their performances.
